The Michael Phelps Diet on Saturday Night Live

Eight time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps was the guest on the opening of the 34th season of Saturday Night Live on 13 September 2008.
The highly anticipated premiere was Michael Phelps’ first time on the iconic show and he was expected to do eight live sketches from New York, which Baltimore Sun writer David Zurawik commented on, “[Michael Phelps] brought an energy and electricity to the stage, and that went a long way in making the season opener a pop culture event worth staying up late for.”
The last spoof is the infamous Michael Phelps 12,000 calorie diet that was presented as the next diet that can lead to increased weight, the onset of diabetes or a coffin. (And, despite its possibly fatal consequences, may I just say that there is something morbidly fascinating with what a 12,000 calorie spread looks like.)
