My Pics at the West Side Story Manila Opening Night

The uber generous Girlie Rodis took it upon herself to take pictures of me with some of the cast members of West Side Story during the excited backstage mayhem in the Meralco Theater on 05 September 2008. Here I am with Maria herself, Joanna Ampil, who, at last, I was able to thank personally for picking out my number during the Maria Swatch raffle at the Trinoma Grand Launch.

It seems that Joanna Ampil was familiar with my blog (I have no idea how) because she said, “Oh, you’re The Bachelor Girl,” and signed my program as such.

I am extremely proud of Jake Macapagal’s work in this musical, and I was able to reassure him that he obviously worked hard on the role of Bernardo, given the many nuances he displayed during the course of the play. Jake and I worked together several years ago and it’s just fantastic to see how he keeps on growing.

I witnessed Leo “Engineer” Valdez saying congratulations to Rowena Vilar because he came into her dressing room as she was about to sign my program.

Of course! But you have to be patient, because actors have their own personal regimen before leaving the theater, like some take a bath or remove their makeup, or some rush out.

Please go to the backstage exit. Please do NOT go backstage without permission so that there will be no security incident report. ;-)

Just wait patiently, and I’m sure most of them will be happy to accommodate you.

Just curious, can ordinary fans also wait for the cast for autographs after a show?
