Sixth Sense Child Actor Makes Broadway Debut in David Mamet Play

The child actor who made the line “I see dead people” famous is now twenty years old and poised to make his Broadway debut in a revival of David Mamet’s American Buffalo. The play won an Obie and the Outer Critics Circle Award and established Mamet’s reputation in the theatre world.

American Buffalo is about “a team of men, Don, Teach, Bob, and Fletcher (who does not appear in the play, but is referred to), who are conspiring to steal a coin collection from a wealthy man. Don, who owns a junk shop, sold a nickel to a man for much less than what it was worth. Out of revenge, he and his friend-in-training, Bob, plan to steal the man’s coin collection after suspecting that he went away for the weekend.”

Oscar nominee Haley Joel Osment, together with John Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer, will star in American Buffalo, which will begin previews on 31 October 2008 and open at the Belasco Theatre on 17 November 2008.”
