Hands on Manila & Holy Family Home Watch Disney’s Mulan Jr.

Hands on Manila Volunteers, Holy Family Home Orphans, Girls and Nuns with Lorna Lopez (me)

I personally love the story of Mulan because it shows a female breaking barriers and showing courage in the face of adversity. I also thought it was important to empower children with a can do attitude through the inspiring story of Mulan.

So I wanted to invite orphans for the 16 August 1.30pm Mulan show at OnStage Greenbelt. The problem was I didn’t know any orphanage administration officials personally.

And that’s where the Internet played a helping hand. Through a search and a link, I stumbled onto the Hands On Manila site. I made a cold call and offered 35 free tickets to Disney’s Mulan Jr.

Within the same day, I received a text confirmation, and then it was all set. Hands on Manila brought a group of female orphans and girls from the Holy Family Home accompanied by the Franciscan sisters on 16 August 2008 to OnStage Greenbelt.

You’re very welcome. I didn’t know that was a “stewardess” thing to do. ;-)
