Pizza Hut Megamall Passive Aggressive Manager (Ire)

The Passive Aggressive Behavior My repeated requests to Pizza Hut manager Gilbert Lauron on 26 July 2006 at 11.30am for our reserved tables for 15 to be transferred to another section of the Pizza Hut restaurant in Megamall were met with silence.

My question of whether the section is closed was responded to with classic passive aggressive behavior. Lauron answered with, “Yes, the section is closed, but we can open it for a big group,” yet did not make any move to instruct any of the servers to prepare the tables.

I took the initiative and informed him firmly, “We’ll take those tables,” before striding to the tables near the glass windows where the light was streaming in. After a while, a waiter started putting the tables together.

The Raised Hand Later, when my raised hand to call for a waiter did not elicit any reaction, I called out sharply to one of the passing waiters and requested for management.

The Explanation About Logistics I spoke with Pizza Hut Megamall General Manager Almario Clemente and told him, “I am getting furious. I have raised my hand, which is standard for requesting for service, and yet no one passing by came over until I called them. I have a group of 15 coming. Is there a problem? Is there something I should know? Will you be able to provide good service?

“And, one of your managers (I pointed him out), answered me with silence when I asked for these tables in this section. I understand that if it’s closed they cannot serve us well, but, I have children coming. I cannot sit them beside the area where the food comes out. It’s dangerous. The children will be standing up all the time and they might bump into one of your servers.

“Plus, that part of the restaurant is a very dark section. We’re celebrating my niece’s birthday. It’s nicer here where there’s sunlight. The children will like it better here.

“And, this section cannot remain closed for long. It’s almost lunch time, and you have more clients coming for sure.”

The Assurance Pizza Hut Megamall General Manager Almario Clemente apologized and assured me they can serve us well.

On my end, I stayed because my sister-in-law has already announced to everybody that the venue would be there, so it would be very hard to change restaurants.

And, as I answered Pizza Hut Megamall General Manager Almario Clemente’s query at the end about coming again, I honestly said definitely not in the near fututre, because I have to cool down from having been subjected to such unfriendly service.
