Chuckles — The Child Lecturer

A friend, who is also a mom, wished out loud, “I want to go shopping in Trinoma.”

Her five year old son, who happened to be in the vicinity, asked her, “Mom, do you want to go shopping? Or do you need to go shopping?”

Then her son continued, “Because if you NEED to go shopping, then that’s okay, but if you just WANT to go shopping…” And he trailed off, with a distinctive disapproving look.

Where did he get the difference between want and need? From lectures from his own parents, who must now be vigilant of their own actions and distinguish between want and need.

How astute of him! Poor mom, now she’s going to have to deal with two men who don’t want her to shop.
