Rebelling Against Doctor’s Orders
Collapsed Lung “You have a collapsed lung,†Dr. Margaret Lim, my Ear, Nose and Throat doctor and immunologist, pronounced over the phone last night, 27 May 2008, as she looked at my front, back and side X-rays. WTF?!!
Rebelling Against Doctor’s Orders So what if I have a collapsed lung? WTF?!!
Feeling rebellious, I strode to the nearby mall and ran errands, making sure to walk swiftly, and keeping the time in between stores to a minimum so that I’m constantly on the move, daring my lungs to fail on me.
Okay, the doctor didn’t exactly say I couldn’t run errands, but she would have probably preferred that I rest before I go to the pulmonary doctor today on 28 May 2008.
On Medication I’m feeling rebellious because for the past 10 days, I have diligently drank the stomach lining eating antibiotics, antihistamines, steroids and whatnot for my pharyngitis and laryngitis (inflammation of the throat); not counting the regular doctor’s visits for immunology shots, and weekly trips to the gym in attempts to keep the body healthy. And I get a collapsed lung for my diligence?!! WTF?!!
The Rains Come Down As I fumed over my possible fate, nature chose at that time to release the water from the rain clouds, forcing me to buy a Php 99.75 golden *shudder* umbrella because I didn’t bring one. WTF?!!

I hope your lung has recovered already. You show no sign of any lung pathology whatsoever now. In the pink of health.
It must have been the pink shirt I was wearing. Hehe… Seriously, I am better and my lung has been “downgraded” to just congestion. Finishing off today my last antibiotic. Yehey! Thanks, Fred!
Hi, I am having my laryngitis for a month now, also has been diligently taking doctor prescribe medicine, up to now i.m not well. I am looking for a EENT doc. can I have the clinic address of Dr. margaret Lim? THANKS
Hi Lean,
Dra Margaret Lim’s clinic is at the Medical Arts Building in the compound of St. Luke’s Hospital in Quezon City. Please call and make an appointment. The no. is 723.0101 then please ask the operator to connect you to Dr. Margaret Lim. Her nurse will book the appointment.
Please note that each patient’s case is different, so although you have an appointment, there will be no exact time because the consultation needed by each patient will differ, so it might be a good idea to bring a book or something.
I hope you were also able to read my other post where I brought two other people with persistent coughs to Dr. Margaret Lim: If Symptoms Persist Consult Your Doctor
I hope you get well soon!
