Jack Black, Angelina Jolie & Sam Concepcion Lend Voices to DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda
Jack Black and Angelina Jolie lend their speaking voices to lead characters in the DreamWorks animated film Kung Fu Panda, while Sam Concepcion’s singing voice will be heard during the film’s end credits on its Philippine run, doing his rendition of the classic hit Kung Fu Fighting.
Sam Concepcion has the singular honor of being the very first local singer to be contracted by DreamWorks to sing for one of its films. DreamWorks is the producer of worldwide hits such as the Shrek franchise, Shark Tale and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Sam Concepcion also has the honor of being included in Kung Fu Panda’s soundtrack, which will be readily available in the Asian region. Selina de Venecia, United International Pictures’ general manager pointed out, “It is a rare occasion for a Hollywood movie to have a local artist sing in the soundtrack album. This is Sam’s first international recording break, and he truly deserves it.â€
Sam Concepcion is so well regarded that he has also been given a chance to shoot a music video of Kung Fu Fighting, which will show snippets from the animated film Kung Fu Panda, and boasts of specially created computer generated animation. Meanwhile, Jack Black has been performing a lot of stunts in Cannes, France to promote Kung Fu Panda, from “mock†fighting pandas and a co-actor, to “accidentally†revealing pregnant Angelina Jolie’s condition of carrying twins during the pair’s interview for the Today show.
Later, Jack Black and Angelina Jolie were joined in Cannes by Kung Fu Panda co-star Dustin Hoffman, who climbed onboard the “accidental revelations†bandwagon by saying that the Jolie-Pitt twins are due 19 August 2008.
Angelina Jolie is presently in Cannes to promote two films, Kung Fu Panda and Clint Eastwood’s The Changeling.
Kung Fu Panda is slated to open worldwide on 06 June 2008.
