If Symptoms Persist Consult Your Doctor

Case No. 1 Dr. Margaret Lim, an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, asked my friend to open her mouth with her tongue out. Even without her instruments, the doctor exclaimed that her throat was very red and there were swollen protrusions on her throat that likely contained some pus-like liquid.

Case No. 2 Dr. Margaret Lim used her instruments to suck out the mucus clogging his nose and throat, and then listened with her stethoscope to his breathing. She pronounced that the left lung is likely enveloped with phlegm, and requested for a chest X-ray to rule out bronchitis.

Case Histories Both cases have had persistent coughs that have lasted for two months or more.

Since I knew both of them, I would intermittently mention that coughs are not supposed to last that long. Case No. 1 eventually went to consult with the doctor, and then I used her story to persuade the second one to go, aside from pointing out the fact that his phlegm is yellow with flecks of green, which is a clear indicator of bacterial infection.

The Point If Symptoms Persist Consult Your Doctor.

And how come I know so much about coughs? It comes from having asthma and a low immune system, which is being improved by monthly immunology shots.

And, as you probably surmised, Dr. Margaret Lim is my doctor since she has a subspecialty in immunology, aside from having specialized in Ear, Nose and Throat. Her mom, Dr. Felicidad Cua-Lim, was my doctor when I was a kid, while the former Dr. Manuel Lim was my ENT. Dr. Margaret Lim specialized in both their fields and continues the legacy of her parents for patient care and service to humanity.

    Hi Levi,

Dra Margaret Lim’s clinic is at the Medical Arts Building in the compound of St. Luke’s Hospital in Quezon City. Please call and make an appointment. The no. is 723.0101 then please ask the operator to connect you to Dr. Margaret Lim. Her nurse will book the appointment.

Please note that each patient’s case is different, so although you have an appointment, there will be no exact time because the consultation needed by each patient will differ, so please make sure to bring activity books and snacks for your daughter.

I hope she gets well soon!!!
