I dialed 77-777 and waited for ten minutes to be connected to a Shakey’s Pizza agent. It seems that the Araw ng Kagitingan holiday on 07 April 2008 has swamped Shakey’s Pizza with orders.
Aside from the usual details of name, address and telephone number, I was asked whether my credit card was Visa or Mastercard and its expiration date. To my surprise, I did not have to dictate my credit card number, because I presumed they would print out the credit card details for me to sign upon delivery.

Since it was his first time to use the machine, he requested if he could use the phone to confer with management. It took several swipes before the required printouts came out. Of course, I warned him repeatedly of my anxiety regarding the numerous swipes, but the Shakey’s Pizza delivery rider assured me that he cancelled the transaction with every aborted attempt.

Well, I can excuse my ignorance since Shakey’s hasn’t been my top choice for pizza in general, but, with the credit card payment for delivery option, it will probably move to the Top 5.

I tried that once and it frustrated me to no end. The delivery guy brought my pizza and the credit card contraption, tried to swipe, said it wasn’t going through, so he wanted to take my card with him. Is he insane??? Of course I didn’t give it to him and I called up the hotline and the branch to give them a piece of my mind. I then returned the pizza to him, since I had lost my appetite. Ugh.
I think your feedback was very material in their future rider training because he never asked to take my credit card even though he was having difficulty. If he had said that, that would have freaked me out. Calling from the phone was more acceptable.
