Sharon Cuneta & Iya Villania Go To College
Sharon Cuneta Enrolled in the UP Open University I learned through a PEP or Philippine Entertainment Portal article that Sharon Cuneta is enrolled in the Open University of the University of the Philippines.
The Open University program allows a student to obtain a degree with a minimum number of periodic visits for exams, but, its success will largely depend on the individual’s determination, since he has to have the discipline to study on his own.
According to a PEP source regarding whether Sharon was able to watch The Buzz appearance of Gabby Concepcion on 30 March 2008, “Basta ang alam ko, hindi napanood ni Sharon ang interview. Tinapos muna kasi ni Sharon ang lahat ng papers niya tungkol sa Humanities subject niya sa UP Open University mula noong Saturday [March 29] hanggang 10 AM ng Sunday [March 30]. Nang matapos si Sharon sa paper works niya, maghapon na siyang natulog dahil noong Monday [March 31] naman ang final exams niya sa for the said subject.”
(What I know is Sharon wasn’t able to watch the interview, because she finished all her required papers for her Humanities subject in the UP Open University from Saturday 29 March 2008 to 10am of Sunday 30 March 2008, after which she went to sleep so that she’ll be rested for her final exams the next day on 31 March 2008.)
Iya Villania Enrolled in De La Salle University Whenever I taped for ABS-CBN Lastikman, I would see Iya Villania engrossed with her laptop. Overhearing Direk Jerome Pobocan inquiring whether she was studying, I ventured to ask Iya’s mom about it.
It turns out that Iya Villania is enrolled in De La Salle University, and education remains her top priority. Projects will be rejected if it’s in conflict with her school schedule, and projects will only have a chance if her school schedule will be accommodated.
Iya Villania’s mom says that her daughter is so determined to attend all her classes that there were times when Iya would go home from the shoot just to take a bath before rushing to school. Iya even ignores her mom when the latter attempts to persuade her to be absent from class once in a while because her mom is so concerned about her well being due to a lack of rest.
Education as a Necessity It’s just nice to know that super busy individuals such as Sharon Cuneta and Iya Villania, who have all the excuse to say they’re working, make the commitment to acquire a college degree.
