McDonald’s Breakfast with Free Philippine Daily Inquirer (Eye)
I’m pleasantly surprised that McDonald’s Restaurant is having a tie up with Philippine Daily Inquirer. McDonald’s wholesome image is surely going to become more exciting with the entry of the controversial Philippine newspaper.
Definitely taking its cue from Jollibee’s offer of a breakfast meal with a molo soup or pie means a free Star newspaper, McDonald’s promo also includes a free Philippine Daily Inquirer newspaper with the purchase of a breakfast meal with pie (hotcake not included) from 6.30am to 10.30am at selected McDonald’s Philippines branches.
I like the fact that both McDonald’s and Jollibee are presenting the option of reading, which, according to PCIJ or the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, is not a prevalent habit among the Filipino population, with only 47% reading the newspaper.
