Avenue Q Theatergoers’ FAQs

Avenue Q Manila December Repeat Performances Poster

How do I get to RCBC Plaza? For very detailed instructions on how to get to RCBC Plaza in Makati, please click here

Is there parking at RCBC Plaza? Yes, there is basement parking available at RCBC Plaza. The entrance is on Sen. Gil Puyat.

What time should I arrive? Please try to arrive thirty minutes or earlier before the show time. There will be Spread the Fuzz activities in the lobby (see below).

Will the show start on time? Yes, the play will start on time, unless there’s a technical situation, in which case, the show will be delayed by a few minutes.

For the theatergoers who are responsible for holding on to the tickets for their group, please be considerate and make sure to come early because your companions will not be able to go in otherwise. There’s a No Ticket No Entry policy for the show, as in most performance venues.

Is there a dress code to enter the Carlos P. Romulo Theater? Although casual dress is more than fine, please feel free to dress up for the theatre.

How long will the show last? The running time is two hours, inclusive of a fifteen minute intermission.

Are there restaurants at RCBC? The entire third floor is dedicated to dining establishments that offer from Italian to Filipino to Chinese to Japanese dishes. On Saturday, however, the choices are somewhat limited as some of the restaurants close earlier or don’t open at all.

Can I just put my cell phone on mute mode instead of turning it off? It’s more than the tones produced by your phone, it’s about the WAVES emitted by your silent phone as it receives SMS and missed calls.

Please be informed that actors’ mikes antennas, which are thin foot high contraptions, are no match for the thousands of hundreds of feet high towers that transmit signals, which will more than likely cause interference with the sound system, such as intermittent incidents of loss of sound, static, increase or decrease of volume levels, etc.

Can I take pictures and/or video of the show? Please help Atlantis maintain its excellent reputation in the international theatre community by refraining from taking any pictures or video of Avenue Q onstage, as such actions will be in violation of intellectual property rights.

It was only because of Atlantis’ outstanding reputation that allowed the staging of Avenue Q’s Asian premiere here in the Philippines, since the play is still unavailable for staging in most parts of the world.

Please cooperate with Atlantis if there’s a need to surrender your cameras or mobile devices with cameras before entering the theater or during the show.

Where can I get pictures? I will request for a number of official performance photos from Atlantis that you may download from my site. Please be reminded that the Saturday matinee show on 15 December 2007 2pm will have a Meet and Greet with the cast.

What are spread the fuzz activities? These are the activities arranged by White Crane Entertainment aka the show buyers, to add to the theatrical experience of its ticket buyers.

    Hi TheBachelorGirl,

Just sharing with you my blog entry about the performance last night. It was totally the most fun we have had at a musical theater show!

    http://3xhcch.multiply.com/journal/item/143/Finally_Saw_What_the_Fuzz_Is_All_About_on_Avenue_Q

Too bad there was no photo op with the cast last night. They were awesome.

    hi TheBachelorGirl!

we had an interesting experience when we watched avenue q today. our friend, who had all of our tickets, was running late. we were loitering in the lobby looking at the avenue q merchandise while the show was already starting.

then a girl by the table, who had glittery makeup, told us that we should go inside already since the show has already started. we told her of our dilemma of course, and what she did was, she asked for our friend’s name, typed a few things on her laptop, and voila, we were able to go inside!

were you that girl with glittery makeup? :D i just want to say thaaaaaaaaaaaank you! we missed two and a half songs, but if we waited for our friend, we might have missed more :) again, many thanks!

    oh, and i looooooved avenue q :)

    Hi Fred,

Thank you very much for the wonderful review; and, yes, it’s perfectly all right to use the poster.

FYI, we did request for a short Meet & Greet but, understandably, we were informed that the cast would be too exhausted, since they’ve had week long rehearsals and a preview before opening night.

And, missyosigirl, yes, I was the girl with the glittery makeup. And, you’re very welcome! :-D

I’ll also extend your thanks to Director Chari Arespacochaga, who is primarily the reason why you and the other groups also waiting for friends holding tickets could go in without tickets. She bent the rule re the NO TICKET NO ENTRY policy as long as the theatergoer knew which seat he has.

Since almost everyone bought their tickets from me directly, I had a record of the seat numbers, that’s why you saw me tinkering with my laptop– so we could inform the ushers of your seat numbers. Thank goodness for technology!

We’re very glad that you enjoyed the show. Till your next foray with Philippine theatre!

My friends and I totally loved Avenue Q. We missed the first run of the show after excitedly waiting for it all year long (yes, it’s ironic but we were all so frantic with work that it slipped our minds) so you can imagine how thrilled we were when we found out that there was going to be another string of shows for December.

It sounds so geeky but I was smiling all throughout, there was nothing that I didn’t like about it. We were hoping to catch it again but apparently all of the shows have been sold out. I adore Felix Rivera, my friend had her picture taken with him and he was so nice and he was incredible in the show ^.^ (sorry about going into gushing groupie mode).

I know someone has probably already asked this, but is there going to be a soundtrack for the Manila cast of Avenue Q? I have the soundtrack but it’s the broadway cast.

    Hi Ice Princess,

I’m glad that you loved Avenue Q, and, re a cast album, there has been no mention of it at all by the creative team. I’ll announce if there’s going to be one.

And the good news is the Avenue Q repeat performances are NOT sold out. Tickets are still available. Please call Atlantis at 892.7078 for the show buyers’ contact details. Thank you. :-)

Avenue Q was simply great! I hope there would be another Avenue Q run, I would definitely love to watch it again. The cast was superb and it would have been great if there was a photo op with the case.

Thanks to TheBatchelorGirl.com for info on Avenue Q and review!

By the way, I saw some souvenier shirts being sold outside the theater. I really wanted to get one but there were a lot of people and I was in a hurry. Does anyone have an idea on where I can buy those shirts?
