Blood Donations are Blood Deposits
Blood Donations should be also known as Blood Deposits. What a lot of people don’t know is that donating blood to the Philippine National Red Cross means that you will get a Blood Donor card, the effect of which is you can withdraw exactly what you deposited.
Philippine National Red Cross as a Blood Bank Literally, the Philippine National Red Cross is a blood bank that accepts donations in the form of blood. And, just like a bank, it will record the amount that you’ve deposited so that you can withdraw it any time you like, for whatever reason or whoever, no questions asked.
The only time you will have a problem is if there’s a bank run, which means that a lot of PNRC blood donors are withdrawing at the same time.
Blood Deposits as Insurance You can also look at blood deposits as insurance against any future requirement, because you never know when you’re going to need it.
Just like insurance payments, you have to donate in increments because there’s a limit to the amount of blood that can be withdrawn from your body.
Blood Deposits for Health Blood can easily be replaced by a healthy heart. It can be compared to changing the oil in your car.
Like oil, blood gets “dirtier†over time. Donating blood will force your heart to create new blood, which is going to be much “cleaner.â€
Who Are Eligible for Blood Donations One of my constant frustrations is that I can’t donate blood because I have asthma, which means I need all the blood that I have to distribute oxygen to my body.
