Maging Sino Ka Man Book 2 Auditions
For the first time in a long time I was actually excited about an audition. Even though the first one turned out to be a piece of misinformation, I turned up for another stab at the audition the second time around. But only because it was for Maging Sino Ka Man Book 2
A handful of people littered the audition area last 11 October 2007, all muttering under their breath. The reason for this was made clear when I got a one page script.
As I gave it a brief look over, it seemed to me that the underlying objective was to see who could memorize numerous lines in a limited amount of time.
This is one of those moments when theatre training really pays off. As I went through the script, I automatically started breaking down the lines, finding out the subtext so that each spoken line is supported by a character’s thought. In short, I did script analysis.
This technique enabled me to audition much earlier than those who were already there when I arrived, since the audition is purely voluntary.
The audition itself was quite a simple affair. There were no cameras, only two Maging Sino Ka Man staff members were inside the small dressing room, with one observing the audition while the other one threw lines with me.
Here’s keeping my fingers crossed to be offered a role in a personally admired television series that I have followed over its course on ABS-CBN.
To quote the musical Chorus Line, “I hope I get it!!!”

I do hope you got the role in MSKM 2?

Well, there has been no call… yet. Hopefully, there will be. *fingers crossed*
Umm. Maging Sino Ka Man Book 2 is airing right now. How could they auditions if they already started shooting it months ago?
As I stated in the post, the auditions were held 11 Oct 2007, two months ago. And, since MSKM Book 2 is an ongoing series, new characters will always come up, thus, needing actors to fill those roles.
Contrary to expectation, scripts are not always set. If the creative team comes up with an idea that gets approved, they can shoot the scenes and air those same scenes that same night, like what happened with me on My Last Day on the ABS-CBN Lastikman Set
Good Luck!
Musta na? Are you doing any acting gig now?
Hi Jude,
I had to say no to a couple of guestings because of a schedule conflict. I’m sure it will work out some time.
