Into the Woods Manila Autographed Poster
Ricky Mariano from Shell is now the happy owner of the very first, if I’m not mistaken, Into the Woods Manila autographed poster. Ricky received the autographed poster on account of the fact that he is the earliest bird to buy from moi Into the Woods tickets for the 17 November 2007 8pm show at Music Museum Greenhills in San Juan.
It was very interesting to note the way the actors chose to sign their names. Go figure why as we go from the top of the poster going down.
Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo as the Baker’s Wife A self-professed Stephen Sondheim Girl, Menchu signed her famous name onto Mr. Sondheim’s printed name on the poster.
Michael Williams as the Baker Michael immediately wrote his moniker on the moon.
Jamie Wilson as the Wolf and Cinderella’s Prince Jamie drew a triangle with slashes on the moon too. It took me a while to figure out that the triangle was a wolf and was aptly drawn on the moon in reference to the wolf howling at the moon.
Tommy Abuel as the Mysterious Man Tommy loped a nicely large signature on the word Into of Into the Woods, which is quite fitting considering that it’s his character that begins the whole story.
Joaqui Valdes as Jack in the Beanstalk Joaqui chose to sign on the letter W of Woods, which may be because his childhood nickname of Wackie starts with the letter W.
Mads Nicolas as Jack’s Mother Mads wrote on the O of Woods while muttering, “Makikita ba ’to (will this be seen)?”
Lynn Sherman as the Witch Lynn’s signature can be found in the cradle of the trunk that sprouts two branches.
Cathy Azanza as Cinderella Cathy discreetly wrote on the smaller branches bordering the poster.
Crisel Consunji and Julia Abueva as Little Red Riding Hood Crisel and Julia carved their names near the trunk of the tree.

i watched Into The Woods for a philo class back in college. i don’t remember who staged it, but my philo class teacher (mona katigbak) was in it. hmmm… maybe we should catch this?
Oh definitely! Please catch Into the Woods Manila. The lead actors performed during the recently held presscon and I was just blown away. Into the Woods Manila really stars the best of Philippine musical theatre today. Of course, please do consider the 17 Nov 8pm show
