Starring some of Philippine theater’s stalwart thespians such as Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Michael Williams, Tommy Abuel, Mads Nicolas and Juno Henares, as well as the current stars of Philippine musical theatre like Lynn Sherman, Cathy Azanza, and Jamie Wilson, Into the Woods Manila will have a limited run from 09 November till 08 December 2007 at the Music Museum in Greenhills Shopping Center San Juan.
Into the Woods is being staged in Manila Philippines by Monique Wilson’s New Voice Company, Asia’s pioneering theatre company, through special arrangement with Music Theatre International of New York.
The YouTube video above is an excerpt from the Into the Woods Broadway Revival in 2002 when it won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. And yes, that’s Vanessa Williams playing the role of the Witch, who, incidentally, was also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical.
