Starbucks Blackberry Green Tea Frappuccino and Green Tea Latte

Starbucks Green Tea LatteThe promo materials read “Savor traditional green tea…” which left me with trepidation because Japanese green tea is reputedly very bitter to the palate.

The Starbucks sample cup of the Green Tea Latte was more than enough to let me know that the hint of bitterness would make the Starbucks Green Tea Latte suitable after a heavy meal or when one desires a yin and yang affair of sweetness and bitterness; for example, when accompanying a Starbucks Banoffee Pie or Oreo Cheesecake.

It might be of interest for Starbucks drinkers to know that the Green Tea Latte is “the lowest calorie latte beverage on the Starbucks menu and contains as much antioxidants as an equal amount of orange juice.”

Starbucks Blackberry Green Tea Frappuccino Blended CreamAs for the Starbucks Blackberry Green Tea Frappuccino Blended Cream sample cup, I cautiously stir the blackberry syrup and whipped cream into the green tea, then tentatively, I sip. Ahhh… This is more my cup of tea when I want tea with, as Starbucks would say, “a modern twist.”

Both the Starbucks Blackberry Green Tea Frappuccino and Green Tea Latte are made with “Matcha, which is made by grinding select Japanese green tea leaves into a fine powder and is traditionally used in Japanese tea pouring ceremonies.”

Enjoy the Green Tea concoctions from Starbucks for the period of 11 September to 05 November 2007.

We would like to thank our Starbucks partners for being our sponsor during the Spread the Fuzz on Avenue Q Manila 2pm show last 15 September 2007 where our theatergoers had the opportunity to taste these latest drinks from Starbucks.

Wow, this post makes me wanna rush to the nearest Starbucks (along Emerald Ave. Ortigas) and try the drinks for myself! I wonder if they have the Frap in a lite variant.

Well, just in case they don’t have a lite variant, you can always order the frap without whipped cream ;-)

The blackberry green tea frappe is my newest addiction. Hahaha, I’m taking a break from the coffee jelly frappe because of this. :)
