Fitness First Platinum Trinoma Philippines Opening Postponed

I heard of the rumblings about the opening of a Fitness First branch in Trinoma from an instructor, which puzzled me because it was so near Fitness First ABS-CBN and North EDSA.

When I went to Trinoma, all became clear as I saw that it was a Fitness First Platinum branch, meaning that it will be patterned after its RCBC Plaza counterpart and will employ a different type of marketing.

When I inquired at Fitness First Platinum RCBC last month, the target opening date was October 2007, however, it has now been moved to November.

This is disappointing news since I’m looking forward to the opening of this particular branch, because Fitness First Platinum Trinoma will be the only (so far) branch that’s located in a building that’s conveniently connected to the MRT.

Although a number of Fitness First branches are accessible from the MRT by walking, namely Fitness First SM North EDSA, Fitness First ABS-CBN, Fitness First Ortigas and Fitness First RSC-Makati, that walk can become unbearable when we’re talking about the slashing rain, flying debris, smoldering sun and suffocating pollution.

Moreover, the time frame is a major factor because of the sardine like conditions during the rush hours in the morning and evening. Since Trinoma is located at the end (hopefully for the meantime) of the MRT line, it will not be as affected by the aggressive fervor of the traveling throng.

Optimistically, I shall hope that all construction will ensue with ease so that Fitness First Platinum Trinoma Philippines will open in November as scheduled, and that it will have a swimming pool just like its counterpart Fitness First Platinum RCBC Plaza. (Sadly, Mr. Ernest Santander of Fitness First Platinum RCBC has just informed me via mobile phone that there will be NO swimming pool in Trinoma.)

been curious about the trinoma branch and also heard rumblings of another FF Platinum at GB5 (phase 2) around next year. Having been a member of RCBC since they opened, im just a bit disappointed with the renovation (though nothing offensive or bad about it) making the oldest and most expensive FF look like a regular gym (Again nothing wrong but i’ve made a joke on the wall slogans that pertain to better living… paranaque starts here)

    Hi Chris and everybody else,

FYI, Fitness First Trinoma is now open for viewing, albeit with the machines still strewn about. NON OPERATIONAL as of now, but at least you can see it.

It will be operational on 01 November 2007. Please call Fitness First Trinoma at 916.0000 to confirm what time because the two receptionists I’ve asked have conflicting info.

hi! i just want to ask your opinion re: marketing of fitness first platinum vs. the regular fitness first…? How different are they in terms of marketing?

  7. TheBachelorGirl on November 14th, 2007

    Hi Jezz,

Fitness First Platinum basically limits the number of its members, so there’s an “exclusive” factor thrown in.

Also, there are amenities that are only available to the Fitness First Platinum member such as the swimming pool in RCBC, or the small details such as the toiletries in the locker room, or the shirt and shorts, bath and workout towel that are provided for every member who works out.

Another factor would be location. As I mentioned above, “Fitness First Platinum Trinoma will be the only (so far) branch that’s located in a building that’s conveniently connected to the MRT.”

If these are not important to you, then the regular Fitness First Lifestyle membership would suffice. Whether Platinum or Lifestyle, both have the same excellent Les Mills programs :-)

oh, thanks for the great info! :D

uhmm….. how much is the membership for Fitness First Platinum? It’s different from the common membership whether it be home or passport, right? Thanks!

  11. TheBachelorGirl on March 25th, 2008

Hi Rollchan. Platinum membership is higher than the regular Fitness First membership. The reasons are listed here:
Fitness First Platinum vs. Fitness First Membership

Try to drop by RCBC Makati or Trinoma so you can see the gym. The address and contact details are:
    http://www.thebachelorgirl.com/2008/996/fitness-first-philippines-branches-directory/2/

If you’re going to join, try to time it with a Les Mills launch because there are more discounts available at that time.

In general, the one month membership packages are NOT available.
