SkyCable Stops Airing the Solar Channels (Ire)

I am mentally shaking my head ruefully as I learn that SkyCable will stop airing the Solar channels, namely ETC, Jack TV, and Crime and Suspense, effective 01 January 2008. This is totally consistent with past corporate decisions such as the attempt to get rid of the Star channels in 2001. It was only due to consumer clamor that that decision was reversed.

Numerous and vehement consumer demands may turn the tide once again.

However, you may want to consider the option of shifting to another TV cable provider. As I stated in a past post, it has been an ambition of mine to shift to Destiny since the 2001 fracas. I was only able to do so in 2007 when the SkyCable contract ended in my area and Destiny Cable moved in to offer the consumer a choice of TV cable providers.

Be forewarned that in the event that you do end your contract with SkyCable, your indignation may increase when you learn that you have to pay a disconnection fee.

And just in case you’re considering having your SkyCable disconnected and NOT paying the fee, please be informed that you will receive several infuriating and annoying letters from SkyCable collection agent L.S. Gonzalez & Associates Law Offices who will promise dire legal consequences unless payment is made.

While you’re making a decision whether to stay or not with SkyCable, let Manila Boy’s colorful letters and language make it clearer as to which of your favorite shows will disappear with the Solar channels’ departure from SkyCable.

YES folks no more solar on sky next year i think it is about 90% probability it will happen since sky has already bought new channels such as balls and fox crimes which carries the same format of programing with btv and c/s.this is a prelude to a pullout for the 6 solar channels, unless subscribers intervention kicks in, to stop this inevitable loss of channels. So if youre a sky/home subscriber you have 3 mos to pettition to halt this solar pull out, othewise, shift to Global Destiny which will air axn nxtyr and btv shifting to regular channel fee (btv is on premium package as of present)
