Nickelodeon Philippines Skyland Premiere

Television critic David Kronke of DailyNews.com warns, “Youngsters weaned on this (Skyland) could well end up being sci-fi fans for life.”

Skyland, which may well become the next favorite sci-fi series on Nickelodeon (after Avatar), will premiere on Friday, 31 August 2007, with a double episode starting at 6.30pm entitled “Dawn of a New Day.”

Reminiscent of the Dune series, power hungry villain Oslo seeks to rule the remaining Earth blocks, which are the ruins of the planet Earth that orbit around the earth’s core, by controlling all the sources of water.

Using the pretext of a governing body called The Sphere, Oslo also employs his Seijin or telekinetic powers to further his dominance over the Earth inhabitants.

Fearful of another powerful Seijin by the name of Mila, Oslo has her imprisoned unjustly.

It is up to Seijin Mila’s children, Mahad and Lena, to rescue her from The Sphere’s captivity. Mahad uses his superior piloting skills while Lena relies on her astonishing Seijin powers to aid them in their quest to find and free their mother.
