Puppets from Trumpets Noah’s Big Boat

Talking about Avenue Q and its use of puppets made me remember my stint as a puppeteer in the Trumpets production of Noah’s Big Boat. Pictured with me is my beloved puppet Japeth — the youngest SON of Noah.
In the picture above, Japeth was dressed up to look like a female puppet for the recently concluded Disney’s High School Musical Onstage. Despite his disguise, nothing can hide his cute persona.

Seeing double, triple even? Japeth has the distinction of being the only puppet in Noah’s Big Boat to have three versions — the main puppet, the back up puppet, and the stunt puppet (the one who gets thrown all over).

Of course, the full stable of sons from Noah’s Big Boat consists of Shem, Japeth and Ham. With children, you have to make sure you give them equal treatment because they notice. So here I am giving the three boys a group hug.
