Silicone Injectables for Non-Surgical Breast Augmentation
I was rude yesterday, 28 July 2007, and openly stared at the two beautiful half-spheres showed off in the low cut denim blouse of the transsexual leaning on the glass display where I was waiting for my mobile phone to be repaired.
He/she was the first one I’ve seen among the row of shops full of transsexuals with breast augmentation that was superbly done. The slopes were smooth and spherical, and a total head-turner.
After the person left, I was overcome with curiosity, so I asked the mobile phone shop’s assistant, who is also a transsexual, how his/her friend’s breasts were done.
The reply was, “Silicone Injectables.”
I was confused since what I was slightly familiar with are silicone implants that required surgery.
According to the mobile phone shop’s assistant, there’s no need for surgery because a doctor is injecting the silicone directly into the chest area.
My follow up question was how does it stay in place if it’s not held together like a silicone implant.
“Kelangan i-masahe kundi lilipat (you need to massage them into place, otherwise it’s going to spread).”
That reply triggered an alarm bell so I searched a little bit and came up with two enlightening posts.
One was written by a transsexual who openly warned that Silicone Injectables are illegal in the United States and counseled against its use with scientific data. However, understanding that someone will still probably do it despite the warnings of adverse effects, he/she gave practical tips on the process.
The other post is by board certified Filipino plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Carlos Lasa who became aware of the situation from “patients who have been victimized by glib-talking people extolling the virtues of silicone oil injections.”
Dr. Lasa points out, “The lure of low-cost injections is hard to resist. When the complications arise, these victims end up spending more.”
