Harry Potter Book & Film Reservation

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Film StandeeA query whether they could borrow Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows after I’ve finished reading it brought home the fact that I haven’t made any book reservation nor bought a ticket to the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film.

I tried to rectify the situation on 05 July 2007 by passing by Powerbooks Greenbelt to ask whether they will open at 7am (the same time when Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was made available) on 21 July 2007, the day when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be officially released worldwide.

Previous inquiries in Powerbooks during the earlier months have yielded no final management decision, which have made me hold on to my Php 500 reservation fee. It is now official that all Powerbooks branches will accommodate their Harry Potter aficionados by selling Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows starting at 7.01am

However, the nearest Powerbooks branch to me is Shangri-la Plaza, which would be a loss of at least 30 minutes of reading time due to traveling time. That’s why I also passed by Fully Booked in Gateway Mall to find out the conditions.

Fully Booked Gateway Mall is also set to start selling at 7am, so I plunked down my Php 500 reservation fee, because it would mean a much shorter loss of reading time.

Striding through Gateway Mall revealed a Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix poster announcing that tickets were already being sold for the film, so I inquired at Globe Platinum Cinema if there was a ticket available for the first screening when the David Yates film will open on 11 July 2007, two days before the worldwide official release date of 13 July 2007, which becomes even earlier when you take into consideration time lines.

There were no tickets available for the first screening, but there was one seat left for the second Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix screening on 11 July 2007. Front row. My favorite spot. Perfect.
