P & G Philippines Online Job Applications 2007

A Google ad regarding P & G Philippines career opportunities alerted me to the fact that P & G, otherwise known as Procter & Gamble, is widening its outlook, because internet advertising would be considered untraditional in the P & G culture, and, therefore, usually avoided. Plus, this means that P & G Philippines is also widening its base of recruitment.

This is great news for those who are not from the usual schools from which Procter & Gamble Philippines recruits from, namely, UP, Ateneo and La Salle. As Anton Diaz said, “I personally believe that there are a lot of qualified people out there outside the usual Ateneo, UP and La Salle graduates.”

In addition, I would also like to personally encourage anyone who is interested, especially the new graduates (internships are also available) to take a shot at it because Procter & Gamble is a great company to work for.

As I told the brand management personnel who interviewed me in my last year in college, “I’m only considering P & G. This is the only company I’m applying for a brand management position.”

And even though I left after seven months (the siren call of the creative muse was too strong), I will be forever thankful to P & G for three things:

That was the first time I met the term proactive, which is bandied about so carelessly these days, but is such a paradigm turn your world upside down shift.

The 7 Habits workshop also alerted me to the fact that my true calling might be in the performing arts instead of the business world.

The Open Door Policy I was in seventh heaven to be in an environment wherein equality was supported, like everyone was encouraged to call each other by their first name.

P & G also had an Open Door Policy, as in literally all doors must be kept open so that everyone felt free to ask for advice or help from anyone in the company.

I might have been in the lowest rung of the brand management organizational structure, but I knew that even the P & G president will stop and listen to me if I really wanted to say something, which he did a couple of times.

Brand Management Knowledge My experience within P & G Philippines gave me a view from the other side of the coin, so to speak, which served me in good stead when dealing with clients, because I understood their concerns and where they’re coming from since I’ve been in the same position myself.
