Pulp Summer Slam 7 Deadly Sins Sloth Concert Poster
I’m disturbed and perturbed by this Pulp Summer Slam concert poster depicting one of the seven deadly sins— sloth. It’s undoubtedly a work of art. However, I’m very apprehensive with its graphic depiction of a young man slumped at the base of the stairs with a bleeding cut across his chest, blood dripping from his lips, and a blood stained hand lying limply by his side.
The deadly sin of sloth seems to have been caused by physical injury and not by a desire for inactivity or general sluggishness.
To use this very strong image seems to be celebrating violence, a very dangerous endeavor, given the fact that the poster is promoting a concert with several bands this weekend, a concert that’s going to be attended by a raucous and highly energetic youthful population, a concert whose audience has hormones running amok, a concert whose audience members will be looking wildly for any excuse to release their frenetic energy.
I sincerely hope that everyone attending the Pulp Summer Slam 7 Deadly Sins concert will be safe.
