Pancake House Home Style Bangus Served with Less Tomatoes (Ire)
Having ordered Pancake House’s Home Style Bangus (milkfish) on several occasions made me stare in askance at the fifteen or so cubed tomatoes that supported the served bangus in Pancake House Malakas St. branch (near Quezon City Hall) on 14 March 2007.
A request for more tomatoes made the waitress inform me that I was going to be charged Php 15 for four slices of 1-inch diameter tomatoes, but I think the disbelief etched across my face made the server scurry to the supervisor.
The Home Style Bangus came back with just a little bit more tomatoes, and served by Supervisor Shirley Santos.
I looked at it, and wordlessly turned my laptop towards her in order for her to see the visual evidence (I took the picture above of the Home Style Bangus in Pancake House Petron Makati Ave. branch) of what I am used to instead of the miniscule serving of tomatoes before me.
Supervisor Shirley Santos stopped in her tracks, and then wordlessly went back to the kitchen with the dish. After ten minutes, the Pancake House Home Style Bangus came back more satisfactorily.

Hi Jean. The image above is not from Pancake House, but is a picture that I took of an actual serving of one of my orders in another branch, so that’s why my expectation of the serving is of a certain amount. At least, they’ve now standardized the amount of tomatoes. It’s somewhere in between the two extreme experiences I had.
I’m glad you enjoyed your meal. Pancake House is one of my family’s favorite places to go to, especially on weekends.

Yesterday (Aug,16,2008)
, I ordered Home Style Bangus in Pancake House,Medical City. It was the first time I visited the said store, after many attempts. Yes, there were only a few bits of tomatoes, which I thought were the standard portion, knowing too well that pictures and reality don’t match! I didn’t ask for more tomatoes, cuz I ordered a large Western Salad, which complemented the Bangus. In fainess, Blue Berry Pancake is very good.

Naaalala ko nga una ka order sa SM MEgamall…walang sinabing extra charge for asking extra slices ng kamatis. Alas! you got your laptop as evidence…he, he, he.
