John Lloyd Cruz in Biogesic TV Commercial (Eye)
Hearing John Lloyd Cruz’s script in his Biogesic TV commercial had me confused for a while because the words were exactly what my friend kept saying over the years except they’re coming out of John Lloyd Cruz’s mouth.
My friend has been a user of Biogesic for about ten years, considers it a lifesaver, and never leaves home without it.
Okay, she won’t carry a whole pack like what John Lloyd would hold in his Biogesic print ads nor would unearth from his shirt pocket in a Maging Sino Ka Man scene with Dona Corazon aka Chin-chin Gutierrez, but my friend would always have two tablets on hand.
My friend usually abhors any medicine of any sort but would swear by Biogesic in the removal of any headache or the beginnings of migraine. And she would take Biogesic on an empty stomach, and encounter no side effects.
And, just like John Lloyd Cruz, since my friend is an actor, she brings Biogesic to work. She has even offered Biogesic to feeling under the weather co-actors on the set or studio as a first line of defense.
The only time she was ever refused was when an actor said that he is allergic to ibuprofen, which causes his eyes to puff up. Since my friend wasn’t sure at the time if Biogesic had ibuprofen or not, she didn’t insist.
Later on, she learned from a Mercury Drug pharmacist that Biogesic only contains paracetamol and NO ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a painkiller. However, some products do combine ibuprofen with paracetamol.
Of course, another person’s experience with Biogesic might be entirely different, and John Lloyd Cruz did admit in a Ricky Lo interview that he was paid a million pesos to be the Biogesic spokesperson, but, at least in the case of my friend, Biogesic’s product claims are totally true.
And it’s very reassuring to know that some ads are still honest to a certain degree.

Case to case basis naman ang mga gamot. Some medicine is not advisable to someone and to some advisable naman.
I also prefer Biogesic kesa sa Alaxan siguro dahil na-brainwash na ako ng dad ko about Alaxan na delikado siya. Basta kapag medicine, it’s safe to ask our doctors about it pa din para sure.
I was looking for a picture of John Lloyd sa internet dahil I also blogged about him sa site ko pero not about the drug per se but about the “mamaya na habit” of Pinoys.
