Makati Shangri-La Circles Event Café Accommodating Staff (Eye)

Circles Event Café at Shangrila MakatiBreakfast buffet at the Circles Event Café at Shangrila Makati yielded three locations for fish dishes, one of which is the Filipino station that had daing na bangus, which, unfortunately, was full of fish bones, making me decide not to get any.

Seeing my predicament, a staff member, Mr. Olly Maranan, offered to cook a boneless bangus or milkfish for me, an item that was NOT on the buffet.

I was concerned that I may not be able to finish a whole serving, which was essentially an entire fish, so I refused.

Boneless Bangus or MilkfishMr. Maranan assured me that he can serve a portion, which alleviated my feelings of guilt on possible wastage. He personally brought the dish to our table and even apologized for the delay.

The combination of trickling water, lush foliage, attentive and accommodating service, and truly excellent salmon at the Japanese station makes me dream of going back again.

The only thing that marred the Circles Event Café experience was the ignorance of the Circles hostesses regarding how to give a tip that would go directly to the Circles staff instead of being shared with the entire Shangrila Makati staff, which made my sister, who invited me for breakfast, decide not to give any.
