SM North EDSA Supermarket Bagging Procedure (Ire)
Cashier cum bagger Ms. Jobelle Caranto of the SM North EDSA Supermarket piled the apple juice, toiletries, sliced mangoes and semi-frozen dumplings into one plastic bag, which caused me to be taken aback since I was more used to segmentation via different plastic bags when the grocery items are different in nature.
Ms. Jobelle Caranto did give in when I requested for the toiletries to be placed in another bag, but remained stoic when I asked if she could separate the others.
I went to the Customer Service counter and requested for the supervisor, who hurriedly arrived after having been paged.
I introduced myself to Ms. Michelle Joaquin, and explained that it was my first time at SM North EDSA Supermarket, and wanted to clarify what their bagging policies were.
It was a relief to learn that, like other supermarkets, it is SM North EDSA Supermarket’s policy to separate the dry from the wet, the household items from the food items, the toiletries from the frozen items, etc.
Ms. Michelle Joaquin copied the cashier’s name from my receipt and promised to remind Ms. Jobelle Caranto about the bagging procedures. Ms. Michelle Joaquin was also profusely apologetic, and readily bagged my semi-frozen items and sliced mangoes in another bag upon my request.
Kudos to SM North EDSA Supermarket management for the speedy actions regarding the matter.
Take note also of other consumer friendly efforts within the SM North EDSA Supermarket like the roaming Customer Assistance ladies who wear a sash proclaiming their objective, the carts that hold one or two baskets (I usually improvise at Shopwise by placing a basket inside a regular cart) and the hooks that hold the plastic bags open for faster bagging.
