KFC Orange Chicken
The chicken is not orange. Nor is the sauce poured over the chicken orange. Nor will it turn your lips orange as suggested by the TV commercial. What is orange about the KFC Orange Chicken is the java rice that goes with it.
Another disappointing fact is that the chicken is merely the familiar Funshots or Hotshots. But the simple inspired notion of the KFC Orange Chicken cannot be denied.
Management took existing ingredients from products that are already available and merged them into a new product. There’s the java rice from the KFC barbecue ensemble, chopped onion springs from the KFC Arroz Caldo, the singular Funshots with Hotshots as a variant, and then, they just created a new sauce to coat the chicken. Voila! The KFC Orange Chicken is born.
