Oprah Winfrey Diet Rules
Oprah Winfrey, dubbed as the Queen of Talk, has revealed in a show how she lost the weight when she reached her 50th birthday. Four volunteers stepped up for what they termed as Oprah’s Boot Camp. Here are the rules that Oprah laid out for them.
No Whites. Whites refer to anything processed or made with white flour, such as cakes and white bread, which means that it has lost its fiber. Whole wheat or multi-grain products are the way to a fuller stomach and a healthier outlook.
No Alcohol. Absolutely no alcohol except on special occasions such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. And it’s limited to one glass of wine.
When Oprah was with her trainer, Bob Greene, she was absolutely forbidden to drink any alcohol, even when she won special awards, and she felt it was too stringent so she relaxed it a little bit for her boot camp volunteers.
No Eating After 7.30 pm When Oprah was invited for dinner by Jerry Seinfeld at 8 pm, she declined because of her curfew.
When someone confessed to snacking on crackers after 7.30 pm, it meant an additional 30 minutes on the cardiovascular machines for everybody. And this is the kind of discipline Oprah enforced that made the volunteers declare that she is tougher than her own trainer Bob Greene.
The good news is you get to eat as soon as you wake up, because eating breakfast is a MUST. Bob Greene said if you’re not hungry when you wake up, then check what time you ate last night. You should have stopped 2-3 hours before bedtime. Oprah interjected that fat people need a cut off time, otherwise, they’re going to fudge it.
Exercise 8 times/week. Whew! Aside from aerobic exercise (via the treadmill), there was strength training (via free weights and machines).
Although she didn’t do this with her Boot Camp volunteers (you need certification to be a Pilates instructor), Oprah also revealed that she also does Pilates with machines, after which she always feels more centered, taller and stronger.
Sign a contract for 6 weeks. Everyone had to commit to 6 weeks. Oprah declared, “My time is important to me.†Oprah personally led the workouts that everyone was subjected to. But it paid off big time at the end health wise when blood pressures dropped and looks wise when the pounds came off.
