Araneta Center and Pizza Hut Apologize Over Batista Incident (Eye)
The Batista signing at Ali Mall on 08 September 2006 proved to be devastating for my nephews and niece. They were next to have their posters signed when the event was suddenly cut short and Batista was whisked away. To have an admired figure snatched away when he was within the children’s grasp caused emotional trauma for them, and I do mean trauma.
I immediately looked for the organizers to demand an explanation. Thank goodness, Pizza Hut’s (sponsor of the Batista event) Luz Mendoza was there and offered to have the children to be the first in line at the New Farmers Plaza autograph signing the next day.
However, I wanted more assurance so I texted Gateway Mall’s Head Concierge Jun Fuentes for assistance. He also offered to help us out with the autograph signing at Gateway Mall, which happens right after that at New Farmers Plaza.
I also requested if he could work out something with Timezone and Kids at Work so that the kids could feel better. Mr. Fuentes managed to snag a Time Zone Php 300 card for the children. Moreover, when Mr. Fuentes spotted us at Cibo celebrating that same day, he generously offered to treat us to dessert.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Araneta Center for doing everything they can to rectify the situation. Your actions will be remembered most warmly by our whole family.
