Email Petron Re Guimaras Philippines Oil Spill Disaster (Ire)

Petron GasPetron CEO & Chairman Nicasio I. Alcantara has given a formal statement, “We at Petron, deeply regret this unfortunate incident and will take responsibility in addressing the containment and recovery of the oil spill both on land and sea, and more importantly, map out the long-term rehabilitation of the island of Guimaras and other affected areas.”

Petron has also reported the imminent arrival and assessment of the situation by Japanese experts who will be using a “Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) that will allow it to search the seabed and determine the position and condition of M/T Solar 1. Alcantara added that the result of the underwater survey will dictate the next course of action Petron is going to take.”

Although we find the written statements admirable, as the adage says, ‘Actions speak louder than words.’ We can help by constantly reminding them of their own promise by emailing Petron. Leah Reyes has kindly provided the necessary contact information.
