Pussycat Dolls Concert in Manila 2006 Highlights
At the onset of the 28 July 2006 show, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls
couldn’t help but cry because of the warm reception she received from whom she called her “kababayan (my fellow countrymen).â€
Nicole Scherzinger is part Filipino by virtue of her biological father, but took on her stepfather’s name.
Nicole drove the crowd wild with the few Filipino phrases she had learned such as “Kamusta (How are you?)†and “Mahal namin kayo (We love you).â€
Due to their high vantage point, the people with the cheapest tickets, the General Admission section at Araneta Coliseum, could see when the backstage curtains were being pushed aside to make way for the Pussycat Dolls, which caused the people to cheer wildly, while the audience in the lower sections stared up in bemusement.
The Pussycat Dolls entrance sent a surge of electricity through the crowd and drove them to their feet, and they stayed that way from beginning till end.
The Pussycat Dolls sang ‘Buttons’ as their opening number.
The Pussycat Dolls sang live, not lip-synching to some taped recording.
The Pussycat Dolls can really dance, but the best one technically and stage presence wise is Carmit Bachar, who has been a member of the group the longest (since 1995).

I was at the concert. It was such a magical night and I was also deeply moved when Nicole cried because of the warm reception of the crowd. Don’t worry, the scene didn’t turn ugly after the show. It was just 20 minutes of people chanting, “We want more!”
The crowd was what that made the whole concert so memorable. Everybody was singing, dancing and cheering for the girls. The arena was filled with love and joy that night. So memorable!
It was the best concert for me..better than Mariah’s..although I’m a big fan of MC, but damn, Nicole is hot and I loove her.. Pussycat Dolls rocked the Big Dome!!
So unforgettable..
