How to Get to Ongpin St. Chinatown Binondo Manila Philippines via MRT & LRT
A View from the LRT 1 Carriedo Station- If you’re taking the LRT 2, ride it all the way to the Recto Station, and then take the walkway to the LRT 1 Doroteo Jose Station. Go down to the street level to transfer to the southbound side, and then alight at the LRT 1 Carriedo Station.
If you’re riding the MRT, take it all the way to the Taft-EDSA station, go through the Metropoint Mall to get to the LRT 1 EDSA Station, where all the fares are shockingly at a flat rate of Php 15.
Make sure to take in the view from the LRT 1 Carriedo station before you go down the stairs.

Sta. Cruz Fountain- From the LRT 1 Carriedo Station, head north, or just ask for directions to the Sta. Cruz Church, whose present edifice, according to Lonely Planet, “dates back to 1957, after its 1608 predecessor was destroyed in WWII.†It is fronted by a European style fountain that spouts an excellent gush of water. |
