Pizza Hut Bistro Gateway Near Loss of Payment (Ire)

The Lost Bill Jacket At the end of my meal, I placed a Php 500 bill inside my bill jacket as way of payment. As the waitress collected the jacket, the customers from the table beside mine requested for an item so the waitress wasn’t able to say the customary acknowledgement, “Ma’am, I received 500 pesos.”

Shrugging it off, I assumed she would check the payment later. While I was waiting for my change, the customers beside my table also requested for their bill, which arrived before my change did.

Noticing a waitress passing in front of me with a receipt and change, I hailed her with, “I think that’s my change.”

However, the change was too much, so I checked the receipt and discovered it wasn’t mine. So the waitress went to the table beside mine and offered them the change. They were honest enough to say they haven’t paid yet and showed the waitress the unopened bill jacket, which, when opened, revealed a Php 500 bill tucked into it.

At that point, I requested for the manager, and narrated the recent events, and included my theory that the bill jacket that ended up on the nearby table was actually mine, and pointed out that if that had not happened and its occupants were not honest, we would be having a totally different conversation, and how I would find it very hard to prove that I had given Php 500 because the waitress did not follow protocol.

Mr. George Espero, the manager, tried to apologize by trying to give me coupons that would let the holder get a free sausage rigatoni upon ordering a certain amount. I refused by saying that if they wanted to really apologize they have to give me something that’s totally free, not something that I have to spend for.

He immediately made another offer by saying that I can come back and look for him, and he would arrange for a freebie.

“And if you’re not here?”

“Ma’am, I’ll endorse it to all the managers.”

The server also gave me a clear straw when I ordered bottomless. When I asked for a refill, nag-explain pa ko. Kainis. :-(

Medyo yata cursed ako kung ang pag-uusapan ay pizza. Medyo madami na akong horror experiences sa Pizza Hut Sta. Mesa and Gilmore, and Sbarro Megamall. Maybe kailangan ko maging katulad mo…lalo na ako ang customer and I’m paying for it. Grrrr!
    Next time……
