Lady in the Water Movie
Interwoven Destinies and Karmic Links I love how an apartment complex became a figurative United Nations with its multi-cultural tenants. Each apartment became a figurative country that’s separated by walls instead of geographic details.
Images of war on the TV screen, references as to how one’s actions affect everyone, discovery of one’s personal path or destiny, a historical legend trickling into the present and you have interwoven destinies bound by karmic links.
Embrace the Fantasy This story quickly descends into fantasy, so it would be best to leave logic behind pretty quickly, not that it’s discarded completely, but the film ends up being more fun if one believes in the myth that includes narfs and scrunts (I’m not too sure about the spelling).
Personal Message After the Credits Oh, and do stay till the end of the credits to read a sweet personal message from M Night Shyamalan to his two daughters, whose insistence upon their father’s storytelling skills has helped create the seed for this movie.
