Mercury Drug Glorietta Accommodating Service (Eye)

As I mentioned in one of my comments in the post, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy in Manila Schedule at the Ayala Malls, “The Seating tickets are for those who buy at least Php 500 worth from any Glorietta establishment. But be careful, they’ll only honor single receipts. So if you have a Php 2,000 receipt, this will entitle you to only ONE ticket, NOT four. So make sure you divide your purchases so you have separate receipts. And your receipts need to be dated 19 or 20 July 2006.”

The only place I could only think of that I could buy thousands worth of products was Mercury Drug at Glorietta. As my friends sometimes would tease me, I am a ‘walking botika.’ Well, I have to be with my allergies and asthma. Anyway, as I lined up, I went through in my head my script for the pharmacist regarding my situation. I even created an alternative one for the supervisor just in case the front liner will refuse to accommodate me.

But there was no need for the alternative script. Ms. Arlene Buligan of Mercury Drug Glorietta immediately understood the ramifications of my request, and they were going to be time-consuming and a bit of a strain on her part. First, she has to calculate the individual amounts of my orders, pair the ones that would equal more or less Php 500, and, request for the approval, signature, and receipts for each of the transactions since I was using a credit card.

And she did all these with nary an under the breath complaint or a smidgen of ‘this is such a bother’ facial expression. It’s so rare to experience such an intelligent and caring act for the consumer that I must say a heartfelt, “Thank you very much.” And I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the nameless stranger who was behind me and was, therefore, inconvenienced by my request.
