The Little Blessings — McDonald’s Two for One
After watching the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner for Drama, Doubt, a hearty dinner at Ebun Restaurant in Greenbelt was the perfect venue to discuss the currently playing on Broadway drama staged recently by Atlantis productions at RCBC Plaza with Cherie Gil in the starring role.
The dinner ended with a unanimous decision to have a hot fudge sundae at McDonald’s Greenbelt. After the initial slurp upon the spoon, I groaned in dismay at my short memory. Despite the couple of attempts I’ve made to point out that there’s something wrong with their ice cream machine, which costs more than Php 1M, I believe, the sundae’s lack of creaminess made the dessert unsatisfying.
The next day, after working out in Fitness First Greenhills, the newly renovated McDonald’s Greenhills branch beckoned with the chance to correct the unfulfilling experience of the night before. And as I went through the drive thru, like any other impulsive consumer, I ordered a one piece chicken with rice meal aside from the hot fudge sundae.
When I opened the box at home, I was disconcerted to find two pieces of chicken. I hurriedly checked the receipt to find out if I paid for two pieces instead of one. I didn’t.
I munched happily on my free chicken, a little blessing from God for a short stint of unhappiness. Oh, and the hot fudge sundae was creamy and delicious too.
