Harry Potter 7 Double Deaths

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter“One character got a reprieve, but I have to say that two die that I didn’t intend to die,” so says JK Rowling, the author of the highly successful Harry Potter series. She is currently in the process of writing the last installment, the untitled seventh Harry Potter book.

The fact that there will be deaths, I think, will come as a no surprise to most Harry Potter fans, since there is speculation that Harry Potter himself will be killed. In fact, there is even a poll at CBBC whether Harry Potter should be killed off or not, in which case, if that happens, I hope he has finished off Voldemort first, or, is in the process of assuring his nemesis’ certain death.

As for the title, I’m of the opinion that Ms. Rowling probably has a title already, but may, or may not, reveal it before the release date. In the beginning, she was very secretive about the titles but has relented recently about her self-imposed rule. As to the release date, it’s a case of goodness knows when, for remember, she has an agreement with her publishers about not having a deadline.

But, one thing is certain, Ms. Rowling knows the end to the whole series, for she has divulged the fact that the last chapter has been written for years now, since it came very clearly to her how the story should end.

In the meantime, take a look at the casting of the Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix film, which includes Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange, the Death Eater who sends Sirius to the great beyond, and then, pick your fave among the Luna Lovegood hopefuls during the UK auditions.

Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix will be released in July 2007.

International Herald Tribune reported about a mom from Atlanta Georgia who lost a case to ban the Harry Potter books from the school libraries of Gwinett on the basis of, “It’s mainstreaming witchcraft in a subtle and deceptive manner, in a children-friendly format.”

School officials counter argued by saying they have to remove classics such as Shakespeare’s Macbeth and fairy tale Cinderella as well if they banned the Harry Potter books, since the two also refer to witchcraft.

The Atlanta Georgia mom trying to ban Harry Potter books writes about her position in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, saying, “Today’s generation faces evil like no other in history, with its bombardment by violent, sexual and occult images through our modern mass media. I think perhaps we are so desensitized, we couldn’t recognize evil even if it were on the plate in front of us.

“My efforts in this case only address one facet of that evil, which is being spoon-fed to our children, even in the public schools. With the deceptive, exciting, children-friendly packaging of witchcraft in the Harry Potter series, our youth today view witchcraft not only as good and fun, but also as harmless fantasy…

“He’s the One who says witchcraft, including the casting of spells, is an “abomination,” meaning: detestable, repulsive, loathsome, vile, abhorred, (Deuteronomy 18:10-13), and we call it good reading material?”

The best source as to when Harry Potter open auditions are is CBBC, which is the children’s site of news giant BBC. Open auditions are usually held in London.

There are no auditions for HP 7 at present.

Also, whilst I’m here, let me give some advice to you. CBBC’s Newsround frequently publish information on open auditions which anybody can attend. Therefore I would suggest you keep an eye on that. The Age limit varies depending on the role, but you usually have to live in the United Kingdom or Ireland; but bear in mind the expense of travelling to London (which is where all auditions are held) for nothing more than a minute in front of the casting director, because that is all you get. And it’s not even and individual call; you go in in groups, and any that intrigue the CD’s get called back. Very few get called back so make sure you know and understand before begging/guilting your parents into parting with cash to take you to London.
