Holy Kettle Corn! Email Response (Eye)

Who created the kettle corn recipe? I don’t think anybody knows who created the kettle corn recipe. The kettle corn recipe has been around since the 1800’s. This was during the time when cowboys herded cows from Mexico to the new territories. They brought along “maize” and cooked it in a kettle and used whatever flavorings they had on hand. Usually, molasses, honey and salt were used to flavor the corn, which they also used to flavor the food while cooking.

Why add the word Holy to Kettle Corn? We not only added the word Holy but also an exclamation point at the end so that even young ones can tell that it is an expression (reminds me of Holy Cow!). There are no religious claims to it.

Is the taste based on the Filipino palate? We had to tweak it a little bit. In its original state kettle corn would be a little bit blander than it is.

Where are the branches located? I will send this to you in a separate email.

Please do not hesitate to contact me anytime for question you may still have (most probably will to find out where the branches are).

Sincerely,

Aris Alipon
