Chuckles — The Watery Question

Sunbathing Beds at La Luz ResortWhile on the beach of La Luz Resort, the incessant music coming from the resort’s speakers, although pleasant, drowned out the waves’ gentle sounds as it crashed against the seashore.

So my sister went to search for someone who could lower the volume of the music.

When she explained in Tagalog that we couldn’t hear the water, the resort attendant asked bemusedly, “Anong tubig (What water)?”

“Yung tubig ng dagat. Kasi yun ang pinunta namin dito. (The water of the sea. That’s why we came here.)”

The volume was indeed decreased, and we listened to the waves’ music that people who are around it their whole lives seemed to have taken for granted to the point of indifference.

Where is La Luz Resort? It looks a nice place to go to.

Just browsed through their website. I might consider a trip there in August depending on the weather and of course, transportation. It being August we might be there when the typhoons with its heavy rains and strong winds to entertain us. Then there will be no point going to the beach!
