The End of Encantadia

Unang Hirit Guesting I sent a SMS to one of my co-puppeteers to ask whether Encantadia was ending for real or there’s going to be a spin-off. He confirmed that it was, indeed, winding up and brought to a conclusion.

So for the Encantadiaddicts and the just curious people out there, here’s a list of the posts I wrote about my 3-month Encantadia stint as one of the puppeteers of Imaw, the Encantadia counterpart of the wizened Yoda from Star Wars.

For pictures ranging from official images of Ynang Reyna with her daughters Amihan, Pirena, Alena and Danaya to personal photos, and sent personally by Diana Zubiri herself to a young Encantadia fan, check out Diana Zubiri Keeps a Promise to a Child. (Oh, by the way, I was able to find a lost photo of our guesting in the GMA morning show Unang Hirit with hosts Eagle and Regine Tolentino, if I’m not mistaken.)

And for a glimpse of the professional and personal demeanor of the two princesses who became Ynang Reyna, there’s Diana Zubiri — Danaya of GMA 7 Encantadia and Iza Calzado — Amihan of GMA 7 Encantadia .

Lorna Lopez (me) at Daranak Falls with the Puppet's Animatronic ControlsFor a list of FAQs regarding the show take a look at GMA 7 Encantadia Trivia.

And marvel at the first animatronic puppet here in the Philippines and find out how Imaw is controlled by four individuals in GMA 7 Encantadia Imaw Trivia (Part 1) and GMA 7 Encantadia Imaw Trivia (Part 2). (I was also able to unearth a photo of me concentrating intently as I controlled the eyelids, eyebrows and eye movements of the puppets.)

Finally, read about the near fatal disaster that occurred on set— GMA 7 Encantadia’s Fiery Scare.

Thank you to all the Encantadia fans and viewers who have made the show’s year-long stint possible.
