Fitness First Greenhills Rude Reception Staff (Ire)
The Hey Manager card comes handy once again as I informed upper management regarding an incident on 07 March 2006 that caused my discomfiture, and had me labeling the experience to have me “Mad as Hell.”
Here’s why…

I know for a fact that my membership card is sometimes defective when swiped, leading to the non-turning of the turnstile panels. So, after trying several times in one turnstile, I proceeded to the reception to have it manually checked.
And here is where my ire was kicked into gear:
1. Refusal of Manual Checking of Membership Card Mr. Diwa, one of two people behind the counter, instructed me to go to the other turnstile. Knowing the futility of such an action, I offered my membership card again, and Mr. Diwa repeated his instruction.
I did not appreciate his directive because it was inefficient for me to go back in the event my card also did not work with the other turnstile.
Furthermore, I found it illogical because my card could have easily been checked at that very moment by him or Mr. Vallangca.
And true enough, my card didn’t work on the second turnstile, thus, making it necessary for me to go back to the reception area.
2. Rude Comment Within my hearing, Mr. Diwa commented to Mr. Vallangca that I swiped the card the wrong way, which made me burst out, “Don’t discuss me as if I’m not here!”
And I showed him the way I swiped my card previously, and asked him if it was correct, and, he confirmed yes, which made his earlier comment baseless and rude.
3. Unauthorized Reception Staff Later, I learned from Ms. MJ, another member of the reception staff, that Mr. Diwa is a membership consultant, NOT part of the reception, making Mr. Vallangca’s presence, silent though it was, culpable, since he is directly responsible for the reception area.
In general, the reception staff of the Greenhills branch is quite efficient and courteous. I hope this incident is an aberration, and will be corrected.
