What’s Up Last Week #23

Scanning my collection of photos had me mentally boinking myself on the head as I realized belatedly that I had pics that I could have used for certain posts. If you want to see how the tiger looked up close with just a set of bars preventing close personal contact, do take a second look at Chuckles — The Revenge of the Chicken.

I watched the Oscars this year because I was interested in several actors, for example Phillip Seymour Hoffman, whose win took me by surprise, and certain movies, like King Kong. I was very pleased when both King Kong and Narnia Won Oscars in the technical categories such as sound editing and make-up.

A bit of trivia here. When I learned that Narnia was going to be shot in New Zealand, I sent an application letter via email to the WETA Workshop, Peter Jackson’s special effects company, which was going to do some of the SFX on the The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe film. Currently, I am the proud recipient of a letter from the WETA Workshop, never mind that it’s a rejection letter.

I wish that I had been more diligent in watching out for this film festival cum tribute, because it’s now on its last weekend and I haven’t even seen one film— Aktres – A Salute to Women in Philippine Cinema.

The body’s need for Calcium as one goes through Strength Training has made it imperative to find healthy calcium sources such as soy milk, so that’s why I thought it would be great to know about the New Fruit Magic Soy Milk Flavors.

And then, the need to rehearse for the SM Baby Co. Launch at Shoemart Makati gave me the opportunity to see the new Powerdance Studio, which was very impressive in its dimensions, plus, it’s very accessible since it’s near the Gateway Mall, which is connected to both the LRT and MRT.

The SM Baby Co. Baby’s Day Out Launch also gave me the chance to try my hand at being a stylist as I put together the look and finishing touches on the performers’ costumes with what I thought were interesting twists, accessories wise. They can be seen in Think Out of the Box — Accessories.

During the launch, I was able to see some of the cute materials that can be used for scrapbooking. FYI, if your Baby & Co. scrapbook materials purchases reach Php 500, you can attend the Baby & Co. Scrapbook Workshop for free.

Lastly, it was nice to note that my suggestion was implemented when I pointed out the Shopwise Express Lane Dilemma (Eye).

I found it particularly satisfying in one instance when the couple in front of me discussed how they would pay for a single bottle of expensive whisky, and decided to use a credit card, which proved my point that a single or a miniscule number of items can warrant the use of a credit card, thus, justifying the need for an express lane that accepted credit cards.
