What’s Up Last Week #21

The jaw dropping surprise while scanning the HBO February 2006 schedule is finding out that the extremely talented Lord of the Rings actor Brad Dourif (Wormtongue — the Saruman spy in the Rohan court) also provided the voice of Chucky in the horror film Seed of Chucky, not just for this movie but for the entire Child’s play series, which spans several movies since 1988.

Moreover, to make it even more bizarre, he was joined in the cult series Seed of Chucky by another Lord of the Rings actor Billy Boyd (the loveable hobbit Pippin) who provided the voice of Chucky’s son.

I mention these uncanny details as a reminder that The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is going to be shown today 19 February 2006 at 11.30am, and 20 February 2006 at 12.05am. To make the viewing more interesting, maybe knowing The Return of the King Trivia will make it more fun.

Coincidentally, The Buried Secret of M Night Shymalan is going to be shown today 19 February 2006 at 6.30am as well and on 27 February 2006 at 5pm. For a background on this fascinating documentary, check out Chatter & Chunter — Movies of Sixth Sense Director Allegedly Autobiographical.

And HBO describes Peter Pan as “eloquent addressing of the gains and losses of adulthood.” Furthermore, the budding love between Peter Pan and Wendy was so poignantly done that it sent me into raptures.

Meanwhile, tickets for Tanghalang Pilipino’s Zsazsa Zaturnnah are turning out to be elusive. I’ve been trying to get some since its opening, but no luck so far. Catch Eula Valdes and Agot Isidro in this hilarious romp of gender bending.

My education expands further as I list Another 25 Things I’ve Learned Riding the LRT & MRT.

In the telecommunications industry, Globe is giving the impression that the unlimited Globe to Globe texts promo will become permanent. With this marketing move, Globe changed the product name from TXT NONSTOP to UNLIMITXT, and has accordingly changed its activation notices. Be familiar with the New Globe UNLIMITXT SMS Activation Notices.

The catalyst for this product is Sun’s entry into the market, which is constantly being besieged legally by both Globe and Smart as Sun Fails NTC Standards repeatedly.

Another incident with regards to McDonald’s Hot Fudge Sundae had me demanding insistently for an immediate replacement.

And, just in case you’re a fan of this yummy dessert, please be aware that there is such a thing as a McDonalds Sundae Standard.

And do remember that both McDonald’s and Burger King are offering coupon discounts on several of their food items till March.
