Sharon Cuneta — My Mega Valentine Concert 2006 Highlights

SharonCunetaThe most memorable part of the My Mega Valentine concert on 12 February 2006 at the Araneta Coliseum was when Sharon Cuneta stood in front of a mike with an electric guitar and sang in the style of today’s younger artists, even choosing songs that have made them popular like Kitchie Nadal’s ’Wag na ’Wag Mong Sasabihin and Hari ng Sablay.

Sharon poked fun at her weight loss by saying how she can see her toes, but at the same time she was reveling in her sexier figure by doing poses and saying sexual innuendoes to her hubby, whom she said was always being mistaken for being ‘disente’ but revealed he was actually ‘bastos.’

Ms. Vicky Belo was the one who did her liposuction and was a guest during the night.

Sharon’s mom, of course, was also in the audience and Sharon identified her as the one with jewelry bigger than hers.

Sharon shared that she has been in the entertainment business for 30 years, starting when she was 12, and that she was already acquainted with her musical director, Louie Ocampo, even before she became a professional.

Sharon got sick before the concert, and when her doctor took a picture of her vocal chords, they were swollen.

She was advised to keep totally silent for the remaining three days before the concert. (If she hadn’t mentioned anything, I would never have known it, except to comment that her voice was unusually in fine form, so I think the forced vocal rest did her a lot of good, although it did cause her a lot of anxiety and tears too.)
