Eula Valdes Stars in Tanghalang Pilipino Zsazsa Zaturnnah

Zsazsa Zaturnnah PosterEula Valdes is set to save her hometown from a giant frog, multitudes of zombies and alien male-hating women. As Zsazsa Zaturnnah, that is. Her turn as a cult superhero will be challenged by Agot Isidro who plays her nemesis in the form of Queen Femina Suarestellar Baroux, accompanied by her Amazonistas, one of them being model-actress Wilma Doesnt.

Zsazsa Zaturnnah was written as a comic book by Carlo Vergara and is now being turned into a musical by one of the country’s leading theatre companies — Tanghalang Pilipino.

Cleverly disguised under layers of comic writing and drawings, the story has underpinnings of commentaries regarding gender biases, and the ending of this supremely funny tale was totally unexpected and had me clapping inwardly for its brilliance.
