What’s Up Last Week #20
The biggest surprise of January was Bare Essentials Red Hot Ensembles, which garnered the most number of daily visits at 246. It seems that a lot of people are thinking of what to wear on Valentine’s Day. The suggestions are mostly appropriate for after the date activities though, although some can be paired with a pair of pants or a skirt, like the corsets and baby doll sets.
Options for the month can be seen by perusing the Araneta Coliseum’s February 2006 Schedule, which has performances from local artists such as Regine Velasquez and Sharon Cuneta to foreign acts like The Zombies and Andy Williams.
Before the big day, for those who have Globe numbers, I suggested a Romantic Countdown with Globe 10c/sec Rate Promo, verbal gestures that will be totally appreciated by your honey.
Another January surprise was Cheap Eats — Panaderia Pantoja, which I suspect was partially propelled by curiosity of what Kris Aquino likes.
Since it is the beginning of the year, I thought it would be quite useful to know Repertory Philippines’ Theatre Season 2006 schedule.
Some chuckles are in order, with Chuckles — Hard vs. Soft Time, another anecdote from the same child who gave us some laughs with Chuckles — I am Not a Dora.
A cooking disaster becomes a post Chuckles — The Hansel and Gretel Inspiration. The reference to the Brothers Grimm fairy tale may be dubious at first, but, let me just say again that I think the term bread crumbs is quite inappropriate, I think, as a culinary ingredient.
Then, I don’t know what got into me but I couldn’t help writing several consumer articles for the Caught My Eye/Ire category, starting off with another surprising encounter with a Rotten Meal at S.R. Thai (Ire).
Next was KFC Excess Change (Ire). And there was the irritating BPI Disregards its Own SOP (Ire).
The only encouraging episode was an examination of McDonald’s vs. Burger King Coupons (Eye), wherein Burger King has the advantage.
